Welcome to the Institute of Leadership Wales

We are delighted to welcome you to the official web site of the Institute of Leadership Wales part of the Institute of Leadership which is a not for profit organisation dedicated to research, knowledge exchange, learning and development of leadership worldwide.

Our mission is to further the understanding of leadership in Wales and to make a positive and tangible difference to the development of leadership potential throughout organisations and society in Wales.

For this reason the Institute of Leadership Wales is launching a national programme called Leadership Action Wales to support leaders from the private and public sectors:

  • Develop the context to shape the future
  • Support leaders to find the answers to their challenges and so bring clarity
  • Provide exposure and dialogue with top thinkers and decision makers held in a safe environment conducive to open conversation rather than a classroom or lecture theatre setting
  • Access more opportunities for partnerships across the public sector and businesses in Wales
  • Respect where leaders are at present and build from their success

To achieve this, the Institute has undertaken research with academic colleagues from around the world to pinpoint how people actually learn leadership. This has put us at the cutting edge of leadership learning and development with remarkable results and success. In the pilot programme last year held in London delegates from both sectors remarked:
